Board Meeting Minutes
The agenda focused on planning service activities and events for the upcoming Wednesdays in September and October 2023. Each meeting was 1.5 hours being a total of 9 hours
Planning of Service Activities
Service Focus for Wednesday, September 13, 2023: Community Clean-Up
President Chandler Sillaway introduced the plan for a community clean-up initiative, focusing on local parks, beaches, and neighborhoods.
Historian Emma Whitford volunteered to organize the event and coordinate with the members to determine locations and dates best for the chapter.
Service Focus for Wednesday, September 20, 2023: Volunteering at the American Legion
Dr. Massnick suggested organizing a day of volunteering at the local American Legion to support veterans.
Activities included cleaning up litter, revitalizing their garden, and helping do outdoor renovations.
Cassidy Koch agreed to lead this initiative and coordinate with the American Legion to plan the activities.
Service Focus for Wednesday, September 27, 2023: Food Bank Volunteering
Chandler Sillaway proposed volunteering at the local JBCC food pantry that our chapter often collaborates with.
Tasks would include sorting donations, preparing food boxes, assisting with distribution and clean up.
SGA Representative Cassidy Koch volunteered to contact Pastor Guy and organize the group's participation.
Service Focus for Wednesday, October 4, 2023: Haunted House Fundraiser
Dr. Massnick began discussing the plan for our annual Haunted House fundraiser for APS scholarships (conference attendance, and tuition payments).
Treasurer Sophia Wynkoop was tasked with budgeting and managing the finances for the event.
All board members agreed on event planning and promotion.
Service Focus for Wednesday, October 11, 2023: Blankets of Love Donation Drive
Historian Emma Whitford introduced the Blankets of Love donation drive to collect blankets for our local humane society.
Emma Whitford volunteered to organize the collection points and manage the donations.
Service Focus for Wednesday, October 18, 2023: Dress for Success Donation Drive
SGA Representative Cassidy Koch suggested organizing a Dress for Success donation drive to collect professional attire to support individuals entering the workforce who are unable to purchase clothes themselves.
Cassidy Koch agreed to contact career centers and organizations to collaborate.
4. Additional Business
Advisor Dr. Massnick commended the board for their comprehensive service initiatives and reminded the team about the importance of documenting these activities for the society's annual report.
Dr. Massnick also suggested each event should have a designated photographer to document the activities for the society's archives and for use in future promotional materials.

Minutes (Leadership)

1. Opening of the Meeting
· The meeting was called to order at 1:00 PM by President Chandler Sillaway
· President Sillaway welcomed everyone and confirmed the presence of a quorum.
· The agenda was unanimously approved as distributed. (Leadership Focus)
2. Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes
· The minutes from the November 8, 2023 meeting were presented and reviewed.
· Advisor Massnick motioned to approve the minutes, seconded by Vice President Nikitendo. The motion passed unanimously.
3. President's Report
· President Sillaway presented the monthly report, highlighting recent achievements, ongoing projects, and future initiatives.
· Key points included successful campus events held, increased attendance at campus events, and upcoming partnership opportunities.
4. Discussion on Leadership Development Initiatives
· Vice President, Nikitendo introduced the topic, emphasizing the importance of continuous leadership development to sustain the chapters's growth.
· VP Nikitendo discussed the current leadership development programs and suggested enhancements, including mentorship programs and leadership workshops.
· VP Nikitendo proposed establishing a Leadership Event for the Board, Day of Mindfulness at Harmony Hope Stables.
· After thorough discussion, the board agreed to the proposed Leadership event and to explore bringing the activities at the Leadership event back and replicating certain activities for our chapter to encourage leadership growth.
6. New Business
· President Sillaway brought up the need for a more comprehensive activity structure, encompassing all four counties to increase attendance, inclusivity and diversity of events.
· The board acknowledged the importance of the issue and decided to move forward with the Leadership Event.
7. Closing Remarks
· President Sillaway thanked everyone for their contributions and constructive discussions.
· The next meeting was scheduled for December 12, 2023, at 1:00 PM.
